Here again from the extremely hot Spain (fortunately i will be in Edinburgh in a month!).</p>
<p>Today another b-side and one of the most beautiful indie pop songs ever made.</p>
<p>The Charlottes were formed in 1988 in Cambridgeshire (England). They are well known for their contribution to the Subway label and they also released some records for Cherry red. Their sound was quite noisy, with a shoegazer touch.</p>

<p>But, in their first 7", the superb "are you happy now?" on Molesworth Records, they included this gem of perfect pop on the b-side.</p>
<p>Indie pop heaven, for sure.</p>

<p>Hi friends, today a very obscure band from Lancaster (England). As far as I know their only 12" is the one that I own (look at http://www.twee.net/bands/k/killdevilhil.html).<br />
Released in 1987 in the Roustabout label, home of the superb Caretaker Race.<br />
The band were: Alex (guitar, voice), Paul (guitar, vocals), Jon (bass) and Phil (drums, vocals).</p>
<p>The EP has 3 fantastic songs, with a lot of energy and jangle sound. They sound a lot like The Wishing stones (another great band).</p>
<p>There's no information in the whole web, the EP is not in the japanese collector list :-)<br />
I cannot understand it, there's a lot of rubbish in those lists and in the web ;-)</p>
<p>And this is a gem, enjoy it!</p>

<p>Hi friends, today one of those surprises that pop music gives you from time to time.<br />
I never liked the Distant Cousins a lot, first time I heard of them journalists put them into the Madchester scene, but they had never been part of that music and style. They made a kind of blue eyed soul not very interesting in my opinion.</p>
<p>But in their first and best 12" from 1989, "You used to", you can find this perfect piece of guitar pop in the b-side. I still cannot believe it.</p>
<p>They were: Doreen Edwards (vocals), Neil Fitzpatrick (guitars) and Snuff (drums and percussion).</p>

Today another obscure band from the first 90s: The Emotionals. I have an album (Personal pleasure) and a MiniLP (In response) by them, both in Native records.<br />
They were: Emma Vine (vocals), Pete Maher (guitar, vocals), Roz Laney (bass) and Kieron James (drums, vocals). I have no additional information, any help is welcome.<br />

The Go-Betweens Grant McLennan died in his sleep at his home in Brisbane.</p>
<p>I'm still shocked, I have no words to say how much I will miss him. He was my voice, my heart and my soul. His songs are part of me, part of everything that matters.</p>

<p>First of all, sorry for so much time without posts. Thanks to everyone who has emailed me, you are all very kind.</p>
<p>This week a quite well known band: the Bardots.</p>
<p>They formed in the East Anglia area of England in 1989. Simon Dunford (guitar/vocals), Andy Murphy (guitar), Steve Cox (bass), and Neil Cox (drums) had begun playing together in university and in 1990 released their debut single, Sofaelaine, a flexi-disc release. After the flexi they released a split 12" with Shine! in the Wilde club records label from Norwich.</p>
<p>Then they made 2 or 3 more albums with a different sound, not vey interesting in my opinion (but with some great tunes).</p>
<p>But this song, "Sad Anne", is a gem, a wonderful piece of perfect pop, a song that touches you and remains in your memory forever.</p>
<p>Like many other bands from the era, their first song was the greatest. Enjoy this unforgettable song.</p>
